Free Dance Classes at MCT*

*Free with Membership

Want to tone up?  Lose a few inches?  Who says you need a gym?  Come to FREE dance classes at MCT.  Move your body while you learn something new.  Never done it before?  It’s a great time to start.  Summer classes are just for fun – there’s no show coming up to prepare for, no choreography to learn.  Dance classes are FREE to MCT members.  What a deal, and what a great way to spend your summer!

Beginner Tap (Joanne)

Our tap class is for men and women high school age and over - including way, way over. Besides being fun, learning to tap dance is excellent exercise for your body and your brain and improves balance.  If you've always wanted to try tap dancing but never got around to it, now is the time (no matter how old you are).  After learning the basics, we will memorize a routine to perform for our One Weekend Only show.  Whether or not you want to go on stage is up to you.  Classes are on Mondays at 6:30pm.

Intermediate Tap (Cheryl)

Intermediate tap will continue over the summer on Monday’s from 5:30 to 6:30p.m. in preparation for our One Weekend Only performance.   The routine has not been chosen but class is always a fun exercise with technique review and new combinations.  All tappers are welcome that have previously danced either in their younger years or from Jacque’s beginner class.  Our goal is to have fun, improve technique and present an enjoyable routine for our MCT audiences.  You can participate in class but do not have to perform on stage.  Classes are on Mondays at 5:30pm.

Belly Dance (Donna)

Belly Dance is more than just wriggling around in a sequined bikini!  It encompasses dances from all over the Middle East, all the way to Gypsy and even a little from Africa and Flamenco.  It’s a fun way to move your body to the music, and no one is ever expected to bare any part of her body.  Classes (women only) are on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.

Be A Coral-ette! (Donna)

We started this for the Christmas Show, to a great response from the audience.  Who doesn’t love a kick line?  Unlike the real Rockettes, who all have to wear the same size costume, we take all sizes and ages (teen – adult).  And you don’t have to be able to kick over your head, just as high as your waist.  You don’t think you can?  You never know until you try!  Classes will be on Wednesdays at 6:30pm.

Lyrical Ballet (Cami)

What the heck is Lyrical Ballet?  It's very similiar to ballet in that it involves a lot of the technical aspects of ballet but also adds more frredom of expression through fluid movements. Come out and experience a more contemporary style of ballet that's combined with a little JAZZ!                                                            Classes will be on Thursdays at 6:30pm
