It’s time for our annual musical! So soon! The season has flown by like a pelican scouting for a fish-cleaning table!
“Me and My Girl” opens Thursday, March 6 and runs through April 5. The cast for the musical production is large, the costumes are colorful and the dialogue is witty. The songs are beautifully performed by some very talented locals.
Performers are all local and include: John Schaefer * Gail Burnett * Heidi Ferrell * Eric Rolfe * Richard April Brenda Duff * Ray Anderson and many others!
Fred Hundhammer is Director, Jackie O’Neil (our bouncing pre-show musician) is Assistant Director/Choreographer and Riet Steinmetz is Producer. Kathryn Rummery who has directed the MCT Chorus for the past several years is our Music Director. With that said, you know this show is bound to be a hit!
With countless numbers of people in and out of the theatre on a daily basis, there is a lot going on all the time. Dance classes are still available and a volunteer school is scheduled for Monday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m.
We love to have groups come to the shows and group discounts are available. It makes a wonderful evening to have dinner and then come to a show with friends, neighbors or co-workers.
In addition to the musical, the Florida Keys Watercolor Society will present the most spectacular art display yet in our gallery. The 26th Annual Judged Exhibition will be open for viewing daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., before the curtain of each performance and during intermissions. As a gesture of "Artists Helping The Arts", 20% of all sales will come back to MCT.
Marathon Community Theatre is such a treasure in this small community, and we truly appreciate all the support from our patrons. We appreciate your return year after year, and we love to entertain you!
On April 11 and 12, we will offer a reading entitled “Over the River and Through the Woods”; on April 20, Island Opera will be performing here and May 8 through May 24, join us for “Cactus Flower.”
