The 2009-2010 season is officially over, and I am happy to report, it was a huge success. Incorruptible, Sylvia, Guys and Dolls and Deathtrap were all very well attended and enjoyed.

The second annual tah-DANCE production was extremely well-done and filled the house for two performances. We added a couple of one-nighters in June with the Bicycle Comedian and OperaFest and hope to continue to follow this path in the future.

The summer reading, Mind Over Matt,, is scheduled for July 30, 31 and August 6 and 7, and promises to be very entertaining. You won’t want to miss it!

Please check the website from time to time for audition information for next season and One Weekend Only. Open auditions are scheduled for September 11 and 12 and auditions for One Weekend Only are scheduled for August 14 & 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We are planning a garage sale on a date to be determined later this summer. We have a lot of clean-up projects scheduled as well. Volunteers are welcome if you have time and would like to help with any of these events. And… we will be replacing the carpet in the cinema in the next couple of weeks.

During the summer, I work on the playbill and the brochure for next season. If you are interested in advertising with us either in the playbill or on the big screen in the cinema, please call me at 305-743-0408.

I am available to talk to your organization at any time about the theatre and how your group can become involved.

Thanks to each of you in our wonderful community for continuing to be supportive in so many ways even during difficult economic times. As our mission statement says, “we are here to contribute to and enhance the cultural life of the Middle Keys….” and we can’t do it without your help.

I am in the theatre all day, so call or stop by any time. Enjoy the summer!
